Be a Voice!

I want to join others who have a love and passion not only for the tiny babies that are not given a chance at life and do not have a voice of their own, but also for the women who are alone, scared, confused, hurt and find no help, support or love from doctors, abortionists and Planned Parenthood where they pressure them to abort without talking about risks and life-long consequences.

Survived Having an Abortion?

You are a "Survivor"?
It's getting unbearable to read all the news and news articles about abortions that have gone on at 9 months pregnant, of triplets, of women who say, "I just don't want these babies!", and blogs from women who have had, are contemplating  or are encouraging others to have abortions. I just spent the last hour reading blogs in an Abortion Survivor Forum, this may be "spying" since I have not "survived having an abortion" nor am I or ever will consider an abortion and of course I am bias walking into this forum since I don't agree with a lot of what is being said. But it opened to my eyes to a few things... first of all, these women have labeled themselves "survivors", the definition of a "survivor" is to "carry on despite trauma and hardships" AND "to remain functional and useable" so just by that label they are calling abortion something they had to survive and try to remain functional afterwards. I get that many women walk into an abortion clinic their first time terrified, confused, feeling like this is the ONLY option for them, feeling pressure and lonely...but in what other situation does someone CHOOSE to be a survivor of something so traumatic and horrendous?
Some of the women in the forum mentioned that they were shown an ultrasound of their "little bean" (that's what THEY referred to their baby as which surprised me because it's such an endearing term for your child and yet you are looking at them in an ultrasound at an abortion clinic), some were told to go home for awhile and really think it over, some were whisked away quickly, sedated or knocked out, and rushed into another cold room to sit on a heating pad afterwards. Obviously the situation is different depending on the nurses, doctors and the clinic, but one thing remained the same.....
Every woman that had had an abortion or was planning too...had doubts and regrets. They struggled with this decision, it was NOT as easy as taking out your tonsils (like abortion clinics advertise), it affected them deeply before and after, it traumatized them and even if they felt relief from not having that "burden" anymore...they felt a sense of loss.

It's Best for the Baby?
The other thing I noticed reading these blogs was how many women ENCOURAGE the women who are there asking if this is really what they should do? What are their options? What can they do? to have an abortion! They encourage it like it's the BEST decision, like it's the ONLY choice... and oh boy if a pro-life comment is made in there it is blocked and reported immediately. It was presented like you either abort or you don't, there was no inbetweens, there was little talk of adoption (such a beautiful sacrifice!), there was little talk of the SUPPORT they could receive from Pregnancy Centers, Churches, etc. It was "get rid of it before it gets too big" attitude. And I say this without judging the women because I know the life situation they may be in is nothing I can understand.... but I hated to see how many women come together in order to tell another women that abortion is the "best decision for you and your baby". How is this the best decision for a baby that will not longer be alive? So they won't grow up without a dad? So they won't grow up with a lot of money or designer clothes? So they won't grow up with a disability? And how is this the best decision for a mother who now lives every day knowing she didn't keep that child?
Why is there no talk of the support that IS out there for them if they choose to keep the child OR give it up for adoption.

It IS a Baby but YOUR Body
And the last thing I noticed was that no where was the argument "it's a mass of cells" or "it's not even a human being", in fact, everywhere it was called a "little bean" a baby, a child, a person with a heartbeat, their soon-to-be "angel babies".... the argument of it not being a baby is no where to be seen. The advice that I saw most posted was "it's your choice". It makes me so sad that it doesn't even matter that it's a child in their mother's eyes as long as they have the right to make a "choice". Is there any other situation that we would say, "yes it's alive...but it's still totally up to you if you want to keep it alive".
So many abortions happen because of convenience and that scares me. I know there are many, many women that have abortions for serious situations such as getting pregnant way too young, not having a father in the picture, being pressured by boyfriends/husbands/parents, rape and so many other terrible reasons...and although I still do not agree with abortion for ANY reason, I feel for these women.
But the fact that SO many women are now aborting simply because it's not convenient to be pregnant is terrifying.
A woman in the US was 20 something weeks pregnant with twin girls, she was visibly VERY pregnant and stopped to talk to pro-life counselors before walking into the abortion clinic and aborting both of her precious baby girls. They took a picture of her pregnant belly and it circulated and caused a huge outcry offering her financial support, baby needs, and most of all, adoption for these girls. Her response was, "I don't care about this baby girls, I don't want girls because I have one at home" and she killed them and gave birth to their bodies in a toilet. It's a sick and sad story.
THAT is why we need laws concerning abortion (especially in Canada where we have ZERO laws protecting babies in the womb) - because the reality is that there ARE cold-hearted people out there that really do not value life in any way. I am NOT saying anyone who has an abortion is cold-hearted, I am saying SOME that are aborting definitely are and we need to give the babies a voice and a fighting chance.

NATIONAL BABY SHOWER DAYS
September 28th - 30th 2012 is National Baby Shower Days, this is a time where we CAN show our support for the women that have chosen life, where we can come together and help them out during a scary and difficult time. I so often get the argument from pro-choice activists "it's better to abort the child than have them grow up unwanted, unloved in foster homes with no parents - if you want them to keep this child than where are YOU when they choose to raise them?" It's a good argument in the sense that yes, if you are wanting to stand up on a pedestal and say, "do not choose abortion!" then you also have to step down afterwards and help these women when they choose life. They don't walk away from an abortion clinic after they change their mind and then it's easy from there, they need help, support, love, and yes, financial needs! So this is a time we can do that!

Collect a few baby items, buy a pack of diapers, spend a few dollars that you wouldn't miss anyways and find a mom in need (do you know how many parents put ads online asking for ANY kind of help?) and offer them a gift.

MOTION 312 and What WE Can Do!

 MOTION 312

The vote on Motion 312 will be on June 12th and I am praying that SOMETHING changes, I am however doubtful after seeing and hearing Prime Minister Stephen Harper's reaction to this motion as he says that he will NOT support this and will actually do what he can to go AGAINST it! That just infuriates me and frustrates me! If we don't have the support of our Conservative, "Christian" Prime Minister to make a change when it comes to the abortion laws (or lack of abortion laws), then who can we count on??
Here is some information I read on Motion 312 that I found very helpful and insightful:

Section 223 is a Canadian definition of human being which is at least 400 years old. Canada borrowed this law from British common law, where it can be dated back to as early as 1642. Apart from a declining number of US States, only three other countries in the world now share Canada's refusal to recognize or protect the interests of children as human beings until the moment of complete birth: China, Vietnam, and North Korea.

Section 223 (1) states that "a child becomes a human being when it has fully proceeded, in a living state, from the body of its mother..." Therefore if a toe is still left in the birth canal, that child is not considered a human being yet and therefore has no human rights in Canada.
Courts have consistently said it is the government's responsibility to decide when children before birth become human beings.

A law which denies that someone is a human being without any relevant scientific evidence is not a just law. If any other person were to be designated as sub-human (or simply not-human), despite biological reality, there would be an outcry in favor of a just and honest law respecting fundamental human rights.
The Canadian definition of human being should be determined with current medical accurate evidence, not 400 years' old 17th Century medical science or law.

What Can YOU do? START LOVING!

MY EVENING WITH CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER
Time to Stop Judging Women and Start Loving Them

I was honored to spend an evening at a Dinner Fundraiser with Crisis Pregnancy Center and I definitely took a lot away from the evening. First of all, it was just an amazing evening with a great dinner and an easy-going feel, second of all, it was very informative which was great because even though I have read a lot about the pregnancy center I had no idea all the remarkable things they are doing in regards to the pro-life movement, and helping moms in general. But the greatest part about the evening, hearing the personal real stories that women have gone through from having abortions, to healing, to having children now. Their stories are sad, heart-wrenching and yet hopeful and something I was thinking there," Stephen Harper should be here!"
I believe Prime Minister Stephen Harper has distanced himself from the REAL personal stories AND women, I think he is a Prime Minister, political, has a lot on his plate no doubt and trying to please everyone, but in the meantime he is ignoring a HUGE epidemic in our country and world.

Abortion does not just affect a women for one day, one week or even one month, in fact, it does not just affect the woman considering or having an abortion, there are potential uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandparents and so much more. The women that told their stories of aborting their child and children, it is no less painful today as the day she went through the traumatic experience of aborting her baby, and the tears are still flowing. It does not matter how much time passes, this is a decision (a "choice") that can NEVER be taken back, and it is life-altering and devastating for everyone involved.

The argument that we hear includes, "I (or she) could not financially support this baby so it's better off", "why would you have a baby into poverty and subject it to that kind of horrible life?", "it will probably grow up to be a homeless drug addict, or be abused by foster parents", and the reasons (aka excuses) go on and on. And yet, whatever the reason may be for the abortion...it is NOT "just like taking your tonsils out" (that is a direct quote from several abortion clinics advertising their services) and it is not OUR decision to decide who should get a chance at life or not.

What I realized that night was that as pro-life advocates we march, we protest, we show images and articles, we are fighting to make a difference and most importantly, fighting to save these babies! BUT...then what? These women (some girls) make the decision to HAVE the baby, and then what? The problems don't go away, the fear does not disappear, and the problems certainly do not disappear. THIS is where we need to step up in a HUGE way, and THIS is where Crisis Pregnancy Center steps in and gives these women the greatest gift... LOVE. They love them, cherish them, give them hope and support, help them with counseling, adoption information, medical assistance, doctor information, ultrasounds and the list goes on and on. These women feel judged and alone, they obviously did not PLAN on getting pregnant since they were considering ending the pregnancy...so now they are facing an unplanned pregnancy and the worst thing that we do as pro-life advocates is JUDGE the women put into these situations, whatever their situation is.

The most amazing bit of information I took away from this evening, was that we need to not only fight for the rights of these babies and fight to make a difference, but put our arms around these women that have made a VERY difficult decision, help them and most importantly, love them.

One small way that a friend of mine and I are trying to do this is create small care packages for new mommies with essentials that we take for granted (diapers, diaper creams, wipes, soothers, bottles, washcloths, etc.) and wrap it up as a gift for them as a new mommy and their upcoming baby. There are many ways to get involved but there are also small things that we can do to show these brave women that we are not just going to yell at them to not murder their child, and then when they decide to make the right decision, we walk away.

Love these brave women, help them as they are taking a huge challenge (keeping the baby OR adopting) and encourage Prime Minister Stephen Minister by email (pm@pm.gc.ca) to not only save these babies but to also help our Canadian women by SAVING them from a lifetime of regret and sadness over their loss.
And of course visit www.pregnancy.ca for more information on Crisis Pregnancy Center!

Another letter to Stephen Harper

Dear Prime Minister Stephen Harper,

May 3rd was officially National Prayer Day as well as the Crisis Pregnancy Center's Fundraiser Dinner in Winnipeg, and I took part in both. I prayed for our government to open their hearts and eyes to the epidemic in Canada concerning abortion and our obvious lack of laws in Canada, I prayed for you Stephen Harper to listen to God's laws and not the bullies out there that are pushing you to "not re-open the abortion debate", I prayed for the women that are being lied to, tricked and hurt physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally as they feel they have no one to turn to except a "quick fix" with doctors and Planned Parenthood that care nothing for them except what's in their wallets, and I prayed for all those babies.... all those tiny humans that are not even given a chance, who hear their mother's voice, feel their surroundings in the womb, have a heart that beats, have a soul, and are violently taken out of this world without a chance.

I spent my evening at the Crisis Pregnancy Center's Dinner and I have to say, I was thinking, "Stephen Harper should be here!" I don't know if you are disconnected from the REAL stories of abortion or if you have chosen to ignore them, but you know that the damage that abortion is doing to our country, to our women, to our society and to those babies are overwhelming and heartbreaking. With all due respect, perhaps you need to hear the stories from these women that made "a choice" when really they felt like they didn't have any OTHER choice. Thank God for Crisis Pregnancy Center where they are always open arms, open ears and open hearts to women in all situations and offers them love, hope, compassion, and also baby clothes, counseling, therapy, ultrasounds, set up doctor's appointments, and the list goes on and on. THIS is what our government should be supporting and standing up for! SUPPORT and LOVE for women, not an easy fix that then puts them in a downward spiral of depression, guilt, shame, suicide, drug use, alcoholism, promiscuity which often leads to MORE abortion, etc.

I am once again urging you to see the OTHER side of this "debate"... look to the women, to the Canadian women who need your help. This lack of laws, these ridiculous motions that state a baby is NOT a baby until every toe is out of the womb... THIS is what is hurting women and babies. This is so mixed up to think that having NO laws, that THIS is giving women a choice... it's not! It's giving women one horrible life-ruining choice and we need to support places like Crisis Pregnancy Center!

       Sincerely,
           Jennie

** Please join me and write to our Prime Minister - it DOES make a difference!! **

What "Pro-Abortionists" Are Really All About

Granted there are some "pro-choicers" that truly want to believe that the baby they created is a blob of tissue, nothing more, and that women should be able to choose whether they carry this "blob" for nine months or not. HOWEVER, to say you are pro-choice is a quick, slippery slope to being pro-abortion. How can you not be both? You can't say I want women to be able to choose...as long as they don't choose abortion, it doesn't work that way.
I believe we are blinded to what pro-abortionists really think and feel, I believe this is an evil, scary, dark world and it's never as simple as "just wanting women to have a choice". I am NOT saying that every women that has an abortion is "pro-abortion" and evil, in fact I believe MOST women that turn to abortion are confused, sad, lonely and lied to women that feel they don't have ANY other choices (a little ironic?) and feel lost and guilty after "ridding themselves" of their baby. I believe a lot of people that are activists for "pro-choice" are pro-abortion and frankly, evil.
I spend many hours blogging, researching, reading articles, writing letters to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and many others and in my journey I have realized a scary and sad truth...there are people out there with evil intentions that believe abortion is a right and IS right! And here is the hard truth:

Stephen Harper says DRUGS DESTROY LIVES - what about abortion?

A BABY at just 8 weeks! Doesn't look like a blob to me!
How is this NOT a human being??
Another Letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, I will post the "response" if I get one:

Dear Prime Minister,
I appreciate the time taken to send these emails as responses, but I fear that Prime Minister Stephen Harper is probably not reading my emails personally anyways. I understand that he is incredibly busy to read every email and letter, but I would love for you to actually read just one.

Recently I saw you on the news talking passionately about drugs in the city and the issues surrounding drugs, drug dealers and how we need to stay strong against the distribution of drugs (which I completely agree), something you said was, Drugs,  are illegal because they quickly and totally — with many of the drugs — destroy people's lives." - your quote

And here is where I totally agree and yet, I struggle because you are SO involved in the war on drugs and making it illegal BECAUSE it destroys people's lives, and yet we have an epidemic in Canada (and worldwide) that is destroying lives in the millions and you are refusing to even attempt to change this. Our laws on Abortion (or should I said, the LACK OF laws on abortion in our country) are causing women to turn to abortion as a form of conception, are turning to abortion because doctor's and clinics and Planned Parenthood are NOT telling women the truth about the consequences and risks involved in ALL abortions, and you are hurting the people by not protecting these women, their families and these babies.

The law that was created in 1988 (Roe vs. Wade - which by the way is quite ridiculous considering "Roe" is now a strong pro-life activist that realized her mistake in fighting FOR abortion rights) is barbaric and quite silly to put mildly since science and technology has done nothing but prove how WRONG it is to abort. It is harmful to the woman in more ways than I could list in an email, physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, spiritually, the risks are high and can cause infertility, future miscarriages, possible breast cancer risks, bleeding, pain, and even death. The harm that it causes to those around this baby are endless, families are torn apart, hurting and grieving yet unable to cope in a healthy way, and the harm that abortion is doing to our Country is huge! It is causing depressed, suicidal, lonely, women unable to be themselves, be healthy and contribute to society.

So you see, you fight for the war against drugs because you want it illegal so that they will STOP destroying lives...why would you not see that abortion is NO different?? To say that you just don't want to re-open this debate is not an excuse, and you have a duty to stand up for these women and babies, your Canadians.

PLEASE review Section 223 of the Criminal Code!

Thank you,
  Jennie

Reaching out to Stephen Harper

In the last few months I have written MANY emails to Stephen Harper and (apparently) Rob Nicholson, who is the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and one of the emails that I had sent, I was politely told that these emails should be directed to HIM since he handles this topic. That being said, I now direct my emails to BOTH Stephen and Rob :)

Every time a significant event happens in the world that shows how deceiving, horrible, life-changing and destructive abortion is for women, babies that are dying and all who are involved (which is everyone!)... I write a letter to Stephen Harper. Needless to say, as sad as it is to say...this is almost daily that these horrific stories are available to anyone that will listen. These have included:
Pepsi company uses aborted fetus cells in their products, priests being arrested for politely protesting abortion, Mary Wagner being arrested and given additional jail time after a judge says that her God is wrong!, a baby dies in a bucket in China after a mother is forced to abort because of the one-child policy, a "mother" shoots herself in the stomach to try to kill the baby and only causes minimal physical damage so she is not charged, another young woman gives birth to a baby after telling no one she is pregnant - strangles it and throws the body over the fence - she is given time in a mental institute and NOT as a murderer because she WANTED to abort.... it goes on and on.

Recently I wrote this letter:

This is MY letter to Stephen Harper:
 Dear Stephen Harper,
Although I am writing to you because of the latest news in China concerning the one-child policy epidemic and the forced abortions that are occurring there, I am writing because this type of "leadership" could happen in North America if we don`t start updating our barbaric laws concerning life and abortion.
As a Christian Conservative leader we had high hopes that you would see that the laws (or "lack of laws") concerning Abortion is one of the worst in Canada, and this is not right! Not only are babies being murdered on a regular basis (if you don`t want to consider first or even second trimester babies in the womb "humans", science and technology all recognize that at the very least THIRD trimester babies ARE babies), but the women that are going for these abortions are suffering afterwards, these are your Canadians.
These women have higher suicide rates, much higher abuse of alcohol and drugs afterwards, very high depression rates, they become high-risk in general as they begin to lose hope and care for life, and these women did NOT receive the proper warnings, risks and consequences of what this abortion will do to them when they went to a doctor, abortionist or Planned Parenthood.
To say "I will just NOT re-open this debate" is silly to be honest, it is irresponsible as a leader to shut the book on a debate that has not been changed or UPDATED for many years, every other human rights law HAS changed or at least been re-opened to discuss and let the public be heard, and this one needs to be as well.
The horrible one-child policy that is occurring in China right now should open OUR eyes that without laws PROTECTING our children AND women that we fall apart as a country and a society. PLEASE re-consider.
Thank you,
  Jennie

THIS IS THE RESPONSE:
Please know that your e-mail message has been received in the Prime Minister's Office and that your comments have been noted.  Our office always welcomes hearing from correspondents and being made aware of their views.

Thank you for writing.

I guess I should be thankful I received any response since I don't always, but I can see how this is the "general email" sent out to the massive amount of emails I am sure they get. That doesn't mean I'm going to stop and you should join me!! I figured if Prime Minister Stephen Harper gets ENOUGH emails and hand-written letters and even printed out letters that you sign...he is going to have to listen at some point! He is going to have to see that a change is desperately needed and we WANT this change.

If you're interested in either writing or emailing your own letter, OR printing or copying a form of a letter and signing it, please visit here: http://www.letters4life.ca

Pro-Life Activist Doing EXTRA Jail Time - I wish I could be like her!

This is Mary Wagner, she is a pro-life activist in Ontario who was sentenced to 6 months of jail time because she enters abortion clinics with roses and pamphlets, and peacefully offers support and counseling to the women waiting to have abortions. She loves them, cares for them, offers OTHER options and never causes a scene, never stages protests or attacks abortionists. She HAS been asked to leave and refused.
Two weeks ago an Ontario Court of Justice Judge Ford S. Clements had his own loud rant that included the following:
"She can sit in jail for all I care, if that's the only way to protect people"
He called her "cowardly" and "abusing other human beings" " This is an extraordinary waste of resources. Get a grip!"
"You don’t get it, do you? What’s the rule of law? You’re required to abide by it … You’ve lost the right as a citizen to be anywhere near an abortion clinic or to speak to an employee,” he said.
You’re wrong and your God’s wrong,” he continued. “You have complete contempt … There is a right to (abortion) in this country … You don’t have a right to cause (abortion-seeking women) extra pain and grief the way you do.”

“[Abortion] is legal,” he continued, “that’s all you have to understand … You start causing people emotional pain and harm, you think that’s okay?”
He then asked Wagner whether she would stay away from abortion sites for three years as required by the proposed terms of probation.
“I will not,” Wagner replied firmly.
“Then you’re going to jail,” said Clements.
 _______________________________________________________________________________

I wish I was more like Mary Wagner, she is following GOD'S laws, not the Judge's (who apparently thinks he's god), not the World's. She is trying to HELP these women! How ridiculous that entering an abortion clinic with roses and a supportive hug and ear is considered "abusive" and "causing EXTRA pain and grief", obviously this Judge has NO clue what happens to a woman after she has an abortion.

POST-ABORTIVE SYNDROME:
Emotional Side Effects
  • Women may develop eating disorders, or may suffer from alcohol and drug abuse, as a response to the depression that occurs after an abortion.
  • In some cases, women may have repeated flashbacks of the entire procedure of abortion, which excessively increases the guilt to the point where women may begin to contemplate suicide, and have a spate of suicidal thoughts.
  • An abortion also affects the relationships that were associated with the unborn child.
  • The emotional stress may also affect a woman's sex life, leading to sexual dysfunction.
Physical Side Effects - there are the physical side effects that occur in the following hours, days and even weeks following the abortion
  • Abdominal pain, cramping and diarrhea
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Reaction to anesthesia
  • Spotting and bleeding (for 12 days or longer)
  • Headaches and dizziness
  • Fever and chills
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Cramping and diarrhea
The physical side effects that could be long term are actually endless so I will not list them all, but you can read everything at:  http://www.buzzle.com/articles/abortion-side-effects-of-abortion
  • Heavy or persistent bleeding
  • Infection or sepsis
  • Damage to the cervix
  • Scarring of the uterine lining
  • Perforation of the uterus
  • Damage to other organs
  • Death
Mary Wagner is what we should ALL be doing! Reaching out to these women in their darkest, loneliest times and making sure they understand ALL the risks, consequences, side effects, offering a friendly, supportive hug and to listen to them. Since abortion clinics do not see this as a serious surgery and not a "human" they do not treat it sensitively for these women who are terrified in that waiting room. They treat it like you are removing an appendix, and we all know it is NOT an appendix and it doesn't feel like you just removed an appendix when you feel your baby being removed.

SUPPORT MARY WAGNER!
